The name to know: Carrie Forbes

We tipped woven accessories as the next big thing at the start of this season, but Carrie Forbes is still brilliantly under the radar. The LA-based designer actually launched her acclaimed accessories label in 1989, but during recent adventures in Turkey and Morocco she discovered the countries’ rich artisanal traditions and totally overhauled her aesthetic. Now each pair of shoes is completely handmade by craftswomen in Morocco, who earn a real living wage in exchange for their skilled work. A stylish step up indeed.
