5 things to love about Brock Collection

A fusion of uptown polish and laid-back California cool, this next-level label is gaining attention for all the right reasons. Here are the things you need to know about the brand being championed by Margot Robbie and Jennifer Lawrence

It’s a partnership in more ways than one…

Co-founders Kristopher Brock and Laura Vassar met on Parsons School of Design’s illustrious couture course. Within weeks, the duo became close friends and started helping out with each other’s collections. Vassar even acted as the fit model for a wedding dress Brock designed – pretty poetic considering that just one year after launching their own label, the couple married. They now live in Los Angeles, where their atelier is based, with son Charlie.

…and they’ve earned their stripes

Before founding the brand, Kristopher Brock worked as an in-demand tailor and assisted at heavyweight houses like Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg and Tommy Hilfiger, while Vassar spent time under Olivier Theyskens at Theory and worked as a celebrity stylist alongside Petra Flannery. Little wonder the designers took home the coveted CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in 2016, just three years after debuting their first collection.

Romance is in the DNA

The Brock Collection woman is a modern romantic. Vassar names Jane Birkin as the brand’s ultimate inspiration, citing the way in which she wears clothes with elegance and ease. Brock Collection’s pieces might be precious, but they were made to be worn with nonchalance.

These are real clothes for real life

From elevating a fail-safe sweater and jeans combination to creating show-stopping gowns for black-tie events, the brand has every occasion covered. This approach shines through in the nuanced designs, notable not just for their prettiness but also their flattering cuts and uncompromising quality.

It’s redefining red-carpet style

Margot Robbie, Jennifer Lawrence and Alicia Vikander are just a few of the celebrities who have been spotted sporting the label’s dreamy dresses, earning them places on international best-dressed lists.
