The beauty game changer: A winter glow
A change in clothing isn’t all you need for FW18 – your makeup wardrobe could probably do with an overhaul too. By SUZANNE SCOTT
Getting radiant skin in winter requires a lighter hand, cooler shades and a touch of subtlety. The light is cooler and more unforgiving, accentuating blemishes and, in particular, dullness, so what you need is the right highlighter – and you can’t go wrong with Charlotte Tilbury’s Bar of Gold Palette. With three complexion-flattering shades, it gives weary winter skin an ultra-soft and sheeny, healthy glow. “Skin can look lackluster in the colder months,” says Tilbury. “But a dusting of highlighter over your cheekbones, Cupid’s bow and the inner corners of your eyes really lifts the complexion.” For evening, Tilbury suggests blending highlighter over your décolletage, arms and legs. Or to update your holiday-party makeup with this season’s metallic texture, she advises dipping an eyeshadow brush in water before picking up the powder and touching it to your skin: “The water intensifies the radiance and allows the formula to glide onto skin like a liquid highlighter,” she says.
