There is nothing more comforting than enveloping yourself in a big, chunky scarf once the temperature drops. This season, there is nothing chicer, too, as designers lend a luxe touch to this cold-snap staple. Spanish label Loewe is renowned for putting an irreverent spin on its accessories, and its fuzzy, kaleidoscopic mohair-blend scarf is sure to put a smile on your face. Drenched in fizzy orange, pink and yellow, offset by lavender and gray, it will enliven more muted outfits; style it over a puffa jacket and boyfriend jeans for a cool off-duty look.

For something similarly joyful, The Elder Statesman’s red, pink, orange and yellow striped cashmere number calls to mind the colors of a beautiful sunset, offering exactly the kind of escapism we need on a gray day. Knitted at the brand’s downtown-LA studio, it has a Cali-cool vibe that will complement equally vibrant knits.

Meanwhile, Arch4’s luxe, sustainable cashmere collection caters to minimalists and maximalists alike, with block-colored ribbed knits that come in lively primary hues (such as this emerald green beauty pictured on the left) as well as subdued neutrals. For something chic and capacious, Totême’s soft alpaca-blend style will make you actually want to go out and brave the elements. Drape it over a camel coat and finish with lug-soled leather boots
