The NET-A-PORTER Buying Team’s Spring Shopping List
From cult runway pieces to new investment bags and vacation must-haves, these are Team NET-A-PORTER’s top picks for SS25
Lydia Zacharis, buying manager
“We have been seeing the resurgence of the elevated, casual jacket over the past year, firstly with the ever-popular field jacket, and now with the cropped trench and cotton-twill bomber – both great transitional options. I personally love this one by Bottega Veneta, which I will layer over everything from denim to dresses. A spring wardrobe staple, Khaite’s little white ‘Mel’ dress is very versatile and looks chic with ballet flats – Manolo Blahnik’s bow-tipped pair is classically elegant and can be worn from day to night – or sandals when summer arrives. I will complete the look with Alaïa’s latest bag, ‘Le Click’ (a very practical successor to last year’s ‘Le Teckel’), Sophie Buhai’s ‘Flamenco’ earrings for a pop of color, and Jacques Marie Mage’s ’70s-inspired ‘Admiral’ sunglasses.”

“I’m obsessed with the fresh mint hue of Guest In Residence’s polo sweater – transitional pieces like this are great for the season and so versatile. I’ll be wearing mine with Citizens of Humanity’s cargo-style ‘Ayla’ jeans, which have a cool oversized fit, and Dries Van Noten’s studded snake-effect leather belt for texture and added interest. Metallics are my neutrals, so naturally, I had to include Acne Studios’ futuristic silver sneakers. I’m really into the ballet slipper-meets-sneaker silhouette and love that they’re easy to style with dresses, skirts or jeans. Speaking of shiny things, Loewe’s sequined ‘Flamenco’ clutch is a great choice for evening events but a fun way to dress up daytime looks, too. Last but by no means least is Anya Hindmarch’s key chain. I love bag charms, and this one feels especially fun.”

“As someone who wears a lot of darker colors in winter, I am always looking for ways to lighten my wardrobe moving into spring. This Saint Laurent jacket is absolute perfection and is ideal for layering over both lighter fluid dresses and pared-back denim looks. My number one pick for an emotional purchase this season is Alaïa’s peplum pant – it really was love at first sight and is still one of my favorite looks from the SS25 shows. Having seen so many pillbox and structured bags, Bottega Veneta’s ‘Bang Bang’ comes out top for me. And finally, a couple of additions to my day-to-night wardrobe. I love the modern fit of this satin blazer by Kallmeyer – it’s a piece you could wear straight from office to dinner, to lunch or as an evening layer, and looks great paired with this Another Tomorrow midi dress, which is super-chic and can also work for both the office or an event.”
Abbi Minchin, buying editor
“Ever since I saw these Alaïa pants on the runway last September, I’ve dreamt about wearing them on a beach somewhere tropical, and my fantasy is soon to come true! They are perfectly designed to give a sculpted yet subtle shape, and the chocolate-brown hue is just as versatile as black. Another highlight from the SS25 shows was this backless gown from Kallmeyer. Newly launched at NET-A-PORTER, the NYC-based brand is the ultimate destination for everyday cool-girl attire, and this dress will certainly stand out at any summer event. When it comes to sunglasses, although I am a big fan of an oversized aviator, I love the nostalgic ’90s feel of Oliver Peoples’ round-frame ‘Sirry’ design. I’ll be wearing them all summer long with Khaite’s barely-there sandals. I’m also obsessed with cord necklaces right now and this one from Alighieri is almost like wearing a piece of art. Finally, Jacquemus’s ‘The Turismo’ bag feels very in keeping with wider trends – large enough to house everyday essentials, a doctor-style silhouette with handles that sit comfortably over the shoulder, and lastly, a sumptuous suede finish. The trifecta!”

“I love this Alaïa dress; there’s something about the romanticism of it that draws me in. The color is so pretty and flattering, as are the floaty sleeves and frilly peplum waist. I’ll wear it during the day with ballet flats and in the evening with Bottega Veneta’s soft pink ‘Andiamo’ clutch, which is perfect for alfresco drinks, weddings and vacations. When I’m not wearing a dress, you’ll find me in a co-ord – summer is the season of the two-piece! One of my favorites is this red linen vest and skirt set by Australian brand Posse, which is new to NET-A-PORTER. I love that they can be worn separately, too. I’ll be packing mine for vacations alongside Chloé’s floral-print swimsuit, which is quite possibly my favorite piece from the SS25 collection and looks lovely with the brand’s tiered silk-chiffon skirt over the top. Both capture the spirit and escapism of summer so beautifully – clearly something I’m craving right now.”
