The first thing I do when I wake up is …

…check my phone for anything urgent – and then I meditate. I’ve been on a rotation between transcendental meditation and listening to ones on the Superhuman App. Afterwards, I make my toffee nut latte and drink it from my big Hello Kitty coffee cup. Last summer, I did really well, remembering to drink water with lemon before my coffee in the mornings – but I’ve fallen off the wagon in that respect! While I drink my coffee, I step outside for five to 10 minutes to get some vitamin D from the sun before I start my whole hyaluronic-acid, vitamin-C-serum and moisturizer routine.

The one thing that makes the biggest difference to how my skin looks and feels is..

…definitely my serum layering. And I always need a rich moisturizer, too. My morning skincare regimen starts with a spritz of Auteur’s Definitive Lifting Toner, then I apply both a hyaluronic acid and vitamin-C serum from 111Skin. I also use Epi.logic’s Master Plan Collagen Renew Growth Factor Serum. I follow this with 111Skin’s Celestial Black Diamond Eye Cream and Black Diamond Emulsion, seal everything in with Epi.logic’s The Total Package hybrid balm-cream and apply PERS sunscreen on top. I don’t know if that’s too much stuff but it’s working for me so far.

I’ve always been interested in skincare products and reading up on what’s new

I used to use SK-II’s Facial Treatment Essence when I was in high school and I would combine that with Chantecaille’s 24K Gold Energizing Face Cream. I loved the packaging – it has a gold band design around the pot. I also loved going into my mom and dad’s bathroom and smelling and playing with all their products. I think that’s where I first heard of [the skincare brand] Valmont. My mom also used all sorts of Helena Rubenstein clay masks.

Now that I’m 40…

…I take care of my skin a lot more rigorously. I have more regular facials with lifting tools, lasers and lights. I do PRP [platelelet-rich plasma facial treatment] with Dr. Antoni Calmon in Paris twice a year, skin boosters, lasers and Sofwave with Dr. Vicki Belo in Manila, and I make sure to really hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. I’m a big fan of at-home beauty devices, too. I love an LED face mask, the Lyma laser and 111Skin’s Cryo Sculpting Globes.

When I have a breakout…

…I love the Hero Cosmetics Invisible Mighty Patch. I stick it on before bed and the spot is usually almost all gone by the time I wake up. When my skin is dehydrated, my go-to is a really good hyaluronic acid serum and an IV drip.

My nighttime skincare routine is relatively pared-back

First, I cleanse my face with U Beauty’s The Mantle Skin Conditioning Cleanser. Sometimes, I use a face mask when I’m in the bath, too – and I always use copious amounts of eucalyptus Epsom salts in my bath. Then, I spritz on my Auteur toner and use a red light LED mask in bed – mine is from MZ Skin. Afterwards, I apply my 111Skin Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Booster; and, every few days, I use U Beauty’s Resurfacing Compound. I finish with Jason Wu Beauty’s Goodnight Mr Wu overnight lip mask.

I love to change up my beauty party look all the time

But most days, my go-to daytime makeup routine starts with U Beauty’s The Super Tinted Hydrator or Jason Wu Beauty’s Tinted Moisturizer Meets CC Cream. Then I use a dusting of Victoria Beckham Beauty’s Matte Bronzing Brick, Romi’s Dewy Boost Multi Balm, Jason Wu Beauty and Charlotte Tilbury blushes all layered on top of each other, or whatever I feel like on the day – plus, a sweep of Hermès Beauty’s Plein Air Iridescent Mineral Powder highlighter. Depending on whether I’ve recently had my lashes done or not [with extensions], I’ll apply a Lancôme or MAC mascara as well. Then, I pack maybe eight lippies in my bag and apply according to my mood during the day. I normally have Dior Lip Glow, a Jason Wu Beauty lip gloss and lipstick, Stila lipstick and U Beauty’s The Plasma Lip Compound with me.

I get my hair trimmed regularly

And I use K18 [a hair bond-building treatment] once every few weeks. I use Oribe’s Cleansing Crème instead of a separate shampoo and conditioner to hold in my hair’s moisture, and to retain color for as long as possible. I also love using the Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil, and I sleep on a silk pillowcase to prevent tangles and breakage.

I don’t do much regular exercise

Though I know I really should! When I do, I love a private Pilates class using the reformer, the Cadillac, and all the Pilates machines. I also like Tracy Anderson’s workout classes. I used to do bikram yoga every day at one point, too. I don’t know how I did that.

To get over jet lag quickly…

…I turn the clock on my phone to the time zone of my destination as soon as I get on the plane. Plus, I drink a lot of coffee and Red Bull and do lots of meditation to get me through jet lag.

My life-changing moments…

Reading Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss years ago started me on a journey learning about things that can’t be explained using science – or anything empirically trusted. Moving to Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn has also given me this 45- to 60-minute car ride each way, to the city and back, to listen to lots of audio-books and podcasts that I wouldn’t normally have the patience to listen to. I learned other forms of meditation and practiced those in the car, too.

I keep my routine simple if I have a shoot or big event the next day

I tend to use a Hanacure mask [a Korean skincare brand] and my NuFace tool to tighten up my skin a little. For my hair, I always ask if the hairstylist needs it dirty or clean. That’s it really.
