Stacked bracelets: Colleen Ross, acting fashion content editor

“While my everyday jewelry tends to be quite delicate, I can’t resist the allure of a statement cuff or jaw-grazing earring during party season. Bracelets, bangles and cuffs piled high on the wrist swept the fall ’24 shows and are one of the easiest ways to make evening outfits shine. The key to keeping your stack current is to opt for mixed metals and textures in varying shapes and lustrous finishes that glow in low light. I can’t wait to style new-season favorites by Lié Studio, Isabel Marant, and Gabriela Hearst with my favorite LBD at the office party this year.”

Layering necklaces: Emily Johnston, fine jewelry & watches buyer

“Layering necklaces is a staple part of my look all year round, but for party season, I love to elevate the effect even more with my Sydney Evan pendants, which I’ll be wearing with a white shirt and tailored coat straight from the office to drinks with friends. My top tip is to play with chain lengths and mixed metals to create a look that’s unique to you – they’re a great way to boost simple outfits, too.”

Statement earrings: Abbi Minchin, junior market editor

“Designers continue to place increased importance on jewelry, reviving and reinventing archival styles in modern ways that tie back to historic house codes. I have loved seeing this at Alaïa, Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta lately, where the brands’ creative directors are taking a playful – and usually supersized – approach to the category. I keep my wardrobe fairly simple, even during party season, but whether I’m wearing a long-line maxi dress or a bustier top paired with wide-leg pants, I want them all to be offset with a stellar pair of earrings. My personal favorites are Anthony Vaccarello’s resin styles at Saint Laurent. From exaggerated cuffs to statement earrings, the Saint Laurent woman is all about going big on jewelry – and there is nothing I want more than to be a Saint Laurent woman.”

Dainty diamonds: Gillian Brett, head of fashion content

“When it comes to evening jewelry, I don’t tend to deviate too much from my day jewels. Valerie Messika, founder and artistic director of her eponymous brand, is often quoted as saying she wants her diamonds to live outside a safe, and I couldn’t agree more. While my own collection is modest enough not to be safe-worthy, there are certain pieces I love wearing every day, as each holds sentimental value. I gravitate towards dainty diamonds that are suitable for work but still add scintillation after hours. On my wish list this season is Anita Ko’s divine ‘Gia’ ring and diamond bracelets by Mateo and Jacquie Aiche.”

Chunky rings: Viktorija Tomasevic, shopping editor

“My everyday jewelry is simple and minimal; I usually wear my Sophie Buhai hoop earrings or Lié Studio necklace. However, when it comes to party dressing, my go-to accessory is a bold and chunky ring – it’s an easy way to make a statement, but still chic enough for a casual look. By Pariah's stacked rings have been on my wish list for years now. I also love styles by Tabayer, which just launched on NET-A-PORTER – its modern, sculptural rings will elevate any outfit.”

Gemstones: Claire Jones, head of hard luxury

“My go-to party look is head-to-toe black, so I love to use gemstones to add pops of color to my outfit. Sapphires are a classic, firm favorite. Their deep navy-blue hue lends itself to smart black-tie events and works particularly well with white-gold jewelry. I’m also drawn to opals, my birthstone, as each one looks truly unique and changes color depending on the light. Suzanne Kalan pairs them beautifully with diamonds, especially in her range of earrings and cocktail rings. For an investment piece that will instantly elevate any outfit, I'd recommend Ananya’s Chakra bracelet. There is a stunning selection of colors to choose from, plus they look even better stacked together if you're tempted by more than one!”
