Everybody’s wearing Western boots

This season, our footwear focus is firmly on the new Western boot, a trend that just about anyone can get on board with. But before you open the stable door on your inner cowgirl, a word of caution: the look you’re after now is more ‘Little House on the Prairie with an urban edge’ than literal home on the range.

The updates to watch out for? Cool, two-tone patterns from the likes of Vetements and Ganni, or stand tall in Isabel Marant and Gianvito Rossi’s tall heeled versions. In cool weather, team with a blazer and straight-leg jeans for an off-kilter approach to tailoring; in the heat, try them with floral summer dresses to ground the pretty prints. It’s time to take the reins back.
