Fashion insiders’ favorite new labels
A new winter wardrobe presents the perfect opportunity for a style scoop. Meet the under-the-radar labels the fashion set are coveting right now
LOW CLASSIC
This South-Korea-based label’s structured simplicity and feminine silhouettes present a thoroughly modern take on minimalism. A Seoul Fashion Week staple, founder Myoungsin Lee’s signature feminine simplicity has caught the attention of fashion editors globally. With softly tailored pieces that follow the natural lines of the body, Low Classic’s designs offer the kind of daytime elegance that will take you from Monday morning to Sunday evening with ease. In an exquisite palette of earthy neutrals, its low-maintenance, high-impact pieces are your new go-to staples for nine-to-five and beyond.
REMAIN BIRGER CHRISTENSEN
Hailing from Copenhagen, the capital of cool, REMAIN is aptly named for its wear-forever, elevated basics. Created by Birger Christensen – a concept store with cult status among Denmark’s fashion insiders – its clean-lined, everyday essentials with a fashion-forward edge can already be found hanging in the closets of Scandi style influencers Linda Tol and Pernille Teisbaek. Curate the ultimate capsule wardrobe with cozy cashmere knits and cool leather outerwear.
GAUGE81
Though its roots are Colombian and Dutch, GAUGE81 oozes ’90s Manhattan after-dark cool with its Sex and the City-inspired debut collection. The emerging label was founded by knitwear aficionado Monika Silva, and is designed in collaboration with fashion consultant Gijsje Ribbens and knitwear designer Fira Rietveld (who cut her teeth at The Row and Calvin Klein). Blurring the boundaries between eveningwear and casualwear with its strong and seductive silhouettes, GAUGE81’s fuss-free pieces are made for having fun in. Take the silk-organza ‘Rio’ blouse, for instance; one of designer Monika Silva’s favorite pieces, this sheer shirt is the last word in late-night naughtiness and the perfect party piece.
WRIGHT LE CHAPELAIN
Sustainable style in precision-cut silhouettes, Wright Le Chapelain’s razor-sharp suiting and shirting is reframing the way we think about ethical fashion. British-French design duo Imogen Wright and Vincent Le Chapelain met while honing their craft at Central Saint Martins before launching their eponymous line in 2017. Rooted in eco-friendly production, Wright Le Chapelain combines classic British tailoring and enviably effortless Parisian chic to create an empowering, elevated interpretation of the classic work wardrobe.
ANDERSSON BELL
Timeless pieces that belong in the future might sound like an impossible contradiction but, in the world of Andersson Bell, anything is possible. A South Korean-born label with Scandinavian esthetics, Andersson Bell melds sleek minimalism with streetwear influences in tartan-heavy collections, punctuated by pops of neon. Effortlessly elevate your off-duty wardrobe with its unexpected juxtapositions; the checked twill ‘Olivia’ shirt-dress with an elegant, asymmetric pleated crepe detail is a versatile, key piece this season.
