Few designer debuts have been as highly anticipated as that of Matthew Williams for Parisian powerhouse Givenchy. As the founder of cult streetwear brand 1017 Alyx 9SM, it was apparent from the offset that he would bring a whole new sensibility to this storied label; and his debut collection, SS21, did not disappoint – delicately blending his signature edge with Givenchy’s focus on elegance, tailoring and craft. Case in point, a collarless woollen blazer complete with deconstructed sleeves. This architectural piece is at once utterly contemporary and timeless; cast in an unassuming neutral hue, the clean lines belie its exquisite construction and second-to-none quality. With many women worldwide contemplating a return to the office, and with it a sartorial refresh, remastered closet classics have never felt more relevant. Pair with matching pants for a sharp nine-to-five or after-dark look; or for off-duty days, dress yours down with ivory denim cut-offs and a sports-inflected polo shirt by Bottega Veneta.

For senior market editor Libby Page, the secret to updating your look this season is to shop smart, by opting for hard-working pieces that can be worn for all manner of occasions. Which is why, when Eres’s covetable rust halter-neck dress dropped on NET-A-PORTER this week, she was quick to snap it up.

“As we move towards sunnier climes, I am looking for the perfect wear-everywhere-and-anywhere dress – and this Eres halter-neck number is exactly that. The light jersey fabric means that, with a white denim jacket thrown over the top, it’s perfect for summer in the city. After dark, I plan on wearing it with a chic pair of lace up sandals. Of course, it goes without saying that this understated piece is a fail-safe choice for balmy evenings spent on the beach – I’m keeping everything crossed that I’ll be able to take it on vacation soon and style it with sun-kissed skin and delicate gold jewelry. I love earthy and neutral hues; they have a timeless sensibility, which means they will always feel relevant, so I know I’ll have this dress in my closet for years to come.”

Of course, if it’s your home rather than your closet that needs uplifting, you can’t get better than one of Loewe’s recently launched home scents – the ultimate olfactory pick-me-up. With the ‘Tomato Leaves’ candles, in-house perfumer Núria Cruelles has captured the fresh aroma of green vines just before they burst into color. Not only is this distinctive scent enlivening, but the scarlet earthenware pot also makes a beautiful addition to any mantle or coffee table.
