If you’re looking to incorporate modern boho into your everyday wardrobe, let Bode be your guide – the New York-based brand’s slow, considered approach to craft and nostalgic spirit complements the trend perfectly, making it a natural choice for pieces that feel expressive and truly one of a kind. From the SS25 collection, this ‘Howard’ jacket is impeccably cut from buttery navy suede in a shape inspired by vintage skiwear from 1935, complete with a buckled throat latch and cuffs. Meanwhile, the smooth silver studs and faceted crystal embellishments reflect the artisanship and folkloric sentiments that shape founder Emily Adams Bode Aujla’s designs. On weekends, pair it with Stella McCartney’s ultra-slouchy wide-leg jeans in two-tone frayed denim, adding The Row’s mahogany leather ‘India 15.75’ shoulder bag and Dior Eyewear’s star-tipped ‘DiorPacific S3I’ sunglasses for a touch of city polish.
Drop-waist silhouettes also made a big impression on the SS25 runways. The look, most associated with the roaring ’20s, was brought bang up to date with sleek iterations seen at Khaite, 16Arlington, Erdem and Proenza Schouler, to name a few. From the latter’s White Label, this ‘Gene’ midi dress has a close-fitting, pointelle-knit bodice that sits just below the hips, and a voluminous pleated cotton-poplin skirt for a striking contrast. “I am a huge fan of a dropped waist, so this dreamy Proenza dress immediately caught my eye,” says NET-A-PORTER’s fashion editor, Kristen Neillie. “I love its elegant simplicity and timeless neutral shade. Beautifully cut and super-flattering, it’s a piece I will go back to summer after summer.”
As for styling, the versatile slip-on-and-go silhouette means you can wear it to every occasion, be it a wedding or work meeting, with a few simple accessory swaps. “As always, I will be pairing mine with a statement earring like this polished silver pair by Sophie Buhai – which are part of our NET SUSTAIN edit and exclusive to NET-A-PORTER – and barely-there sandals by Gianvito Rossi for date nights,” says Neillie. Alternatively, try it with loafers or sneakers, depending on your plans.
Heading on vacation? Be sure to take Loewe’s ‘Ola’ bag from its latest collaboration with Paula’s Ibiza. An unquestionably chic choice for beach parties and sunset drinks, it’s crafted from summery raffia with a frilly fold-over top and a signature ‘Donut’ embellished chain strap that can be swapped out for the knotted leather version if you prefer a slightly longer drop.
