The styling trick: White hot
Street style is often a hotbed of vibrancy, where fashion’s boldest dressers showcase their statement style. But at Australian Fashion Week, it was the new take on tonal dressing that really caught our eye. The usual myriad colors were replaced with subtle variations of white, alabaster and cream, as fashion editors contrasted crisp shirts with diaphanous dresses and elegant pants in only slightly varying shades of pale. Our top tip when it comes to wearing white? Machine-washable pieces are your friend. As much as we want to be the woman who can wear white without fearing spillages, not everyone can live next door to a dry-cleaner. On the upside, this styling trick is nigh impossible to get wrong, which means ‘effortless’ is finally achievable.
