IN THE MORNING

I wake up at 6.30am every day…

…and then I have a tea – proper tea with real milk – go through my emails and then work out.

Exercise is important to me

I used to go to Kobox boxing club – it’s so good for my mental health, as it makes me step out of my own thoughts; now, I do its online Workout Mafia classes. It’s difficult, but it keeps me from over-thinking everything. I’m a natural worrier, but those 50 minutes spent working out is when I don’t think about anything other than making myself healthier. I do notice the difference if I don’t exercise. I was training as I was supposed to be getting married in June, but we had to postpone our wedding, which means another year of tough classes!

I’m obsessed with vitamin C

It brightens my skin immediately; with my skin tone, my complexion can look quite dull. I use a vitamin-C cleanser in the shower, along with any Aesop shower wash – I love them all. Recently, I’ve started using PCA Skin’s Pore Refining Treatment twice a week. I also love REN’s Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic, and after that I use Sunday Riley’s C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum. My new cream is from Augustinus Bader – I use The Cream in the morning and The Rich Cream in the evening. I’m a hermit and rarely leave the house, but my skin marks so easily that I have to wear SPF50 every day, as the slightest bit of sun makes any marks deeper.

This year, I’ve learnt to be happier with the way I look…

…because I was so self-conscious when I was growing up, and things people had said were ingrained [in my mind]. But this year, I’ve thought that I want to have children someday and they will look like me, but if I’m not happy with the way I look, then I’m not being the best role model. I used to cover up my skin – it’s always been OK, except for pigmentation scarring from the odd breakout, but I never knew what to do about it. Now, knowing what to use on my skin has helped me realize that I don’t need to wear much makeup, so I focus on making my skin look healthy and glowy. I’ve become quite content with myself.

I take supplements for my skin…

…to tackle my main issue: dullness. I tried The Beauty Chef powders, and after taking them daily for a little while, I definitely saw a difference.

On a bad-face day…

…I use my gua sha tool. If I’m puffy or hung-over, it makes my skin look smoother and helps drain any water retention.

I eat everything

I enjoy food and love the social aspect of eating with people. I don’t want to be that person who says, “I won’t have the starter.” I work out, so I can eat pasta.

The best beauty advice I’ve been given…

…is to wear less foundation but more concealer when you hit your thirties. I can’t remember who said it, but it changed the way I looked at things. I hate feeling anything on my face, but I do use concealer if I need it. Estée Lauder’s Double Wear concealers are incredible, otherwise I just use the Hourglass Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel and a lip balm.

IN THE EVENING

I do quite a lot for my skin

I’m obsessed with Sarah Chapman’s Pro Hydro-Mist Steamer and use it two or three times a week. I’ll do a face mask like Estée Lauder’s Advanced Repair Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask; I love a sheet mask, but have such a small face that I often have to trim around the edges. If I want to be quick, I use it with the Foreo Luna, as it makes any mask work more quickly. If I want to look good the next day, I use Dr Dennis Gross’s Professional Grade Resurfacing Liquid Peel, then steam my face and finish with the LED mask for a bit more skin sass.

If I wear makeup…

…I use a highlighter from Laura Mercier or Nars on my cheekbones, or a cream blush in a peachy shade to give my face some color. I don’t want to mask anything, as I’m trying to use makeup as little as possible these days.

Jet-lag is so dehydrating

In-flight and afterwards, I use Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recover Eye Masks and La Mer’s Crème de la Mer – it’s so wonderfully rich, I cover my face in it.

Having a facial changed my approach to skincare

I had a Skin Laundry treatment, which introduced me to LED and has really helped with my scarring. It totally changed my attitude to what I thought skincare was, as the therapist explained what all the different gadgets were. Now, I have my LED mask, a steamer and the Foreo Luna. I also go to Saintly Skin in east London for facial acupuncture; it’s amazing how it moves and relaxes certain muscles. I look completely different afterwards – even my cheekbones look higher.

I’m not a great sleeper

We have a TV in the bedroom, which I know isn’t ideal. When I can’t sleep, camomile tea helps, and if I’m feeling anxious, then I’ll take some CDB, too.

On my bedside table is…

…Dr Dennis Gross’s DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro; Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair – it soaks in while I watch TV – and La Mer’s The Hand Treatment.
