We spotted some of the most stylish street-style stars championing ’70s knitwear across all four of the major Fashion Weeks. As a look that feels fresh but adds a hit of nostalgia, we’re eager to try it on for size ourselves. For a relaxed yet sophisticated take, seek out pieces that feature iconic diamond criss-cross patterns in rich, earthy hues, and pair with smartly tailored pieces. Layering a leather trench coat (à la Bella Hadid) over a diamond-print sweater will give your knit a modern edge.

A classic blazer lends polish, particularly when worn with straight-cut jeans in darker hues. We’re loving model Veronika Heilbrunner’s interpretation – for the Gucci show in Milan, she channeled a preppy-cool look with patent boots, slightly flared pants and delicate gold jewelry.

Alternatively, embrace androgynous styling codes and opt for a sleeveless vest layered over a buttoned-up shirt. When shirt shopping, choose a colorway that complements the tones within your knit. Take your styling cues from fashion director Julie Pelipas by pairing your knitted vest with slouchy pants, a tailored blazer, oversized sunglasses and sneakers for an outfit that reads out-of-office but remains enviably chic.
