Like the scene in the 1957 film Funny Face, fashion has declared that we ‘Think pink!’ this season. While Barbie put hot-pink firmly back on the map two summers ago, it’s soft, sugary pinks that have our hearts all aflutter for SS25. The whimsical shade most associated with romance and playfulness was prominent in Paris, New York, London and Milan, at several shows, including Khaite, Alaïa, Ferragamo and Chloé, and feeds into two of the season’s biggest trends – romanticism and balletcore.

Off the runway, another key cultural moment that has no doubt reignited our love for pink is Ariana Grande’s star turn as Glinda in Wicked. Orchestrated by her stylist Mimi Cuttrell, the actor and singer has stepped out at world premieres and award shows in recent months wearing a string of custom, runway and archival looks by the likes of Rodarte, Loewe and Bode – all in fairy-tale shades of pink that would make the good witch proud. At this year’s Oscars, all eyes were on Grande – a first-time nominee – to see if she would pay one last sartorial tribute to her character before part two of the movie hits our screens at the end of the year, and she did not disappoint in a glittering oyster-pink gown. The star was joined on the night by Mikey Madison, Monica Barbaro and Selena Gomez, who also wore varying shades of pink for their turn on the red carpet.

Make an impact – and spark joy – with a head-to-toe pink outfit

Style it out head to toe

In fashion terms, what could be more joyous than wearing pink from top to toe? When it comes to styling, choose accessories in different tones and textures from the rest of your outfit – it’ll help add depth and visual interest to the overall look. Perfect for weddings and other special events, Alaïa’s metallic open-knit midi dress from the brand’s Winter/Spring ’25 collection comes in a dusty coral shade that complements every skin tone and evokes minimal ’90s silhouettes. Slip it on with Manolo Blahnik’s flamingo-pink ‘Callamu’ mules and Bottega Veneta’s ‘Wallace’ bag in marshmallow-hued intrecciato leather for the perfect contrast.

Want to brighten up your workwear? Just add some pink – the surprisingly versatile color lifts moods and softens office looks

Make it work for work

Wearing pink to the office might not seem like the most obvious choice, but you’ll be surprised at the difference it can make to classic tailoring. Quieter tones, like blush, antique-rose and salmon are as versatile as any neutral – and will therefore work with a lot of pieces you already own. From our NET SUSTAIN edit and made using lower-impact materials, Stella McCartney’s oversized shirt looks as chic worn loose with Frame’s croc-effect leather pencil skirt and ballet flats as it does tucked neatly into tailored pants.

Delicate pinks work double-time, uplifting weekend ensembles

Let it lift your off-duty outfits

Pink has a certain charm that can make even the most casual outfits feel special, so you know what to do if you’re feeling uninspired by your weekend wardrobe. Designed in a beautiful rose shade, Gabriela Hearst’s ‘Gavin’ blazer works just as well with denim as it does the matching pants. Slip it on with a pastel-pink cashmere sweater and Agolde’s ‘Low Curve’ jeans from our NET SUSTAIN edit, adding a bag in soft cream or white for a chic contrast.

Whatever your going-out style, there’s a shade of pink to suit every mood and occasion

Add a romantic touch to eveningwear

Whether your style is fun and flirty or elegant and sophisticated, there’s always a place for pink at evening events – Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Danielle Deadwyler and Renée Zellweger have all graced the red carpet in pretty pink looks recently. Staud’s ‘Phare’ midi is made from pearlescent silk-blend satin that beautifully catches the light and has a softly gathered one-shoulder neckline. Go tonal by styling yours with Gucci’s ‘Signoria’ slingbacks in pastel-pink, but add a color contrast elsewhere with Khaite’s sumptuous cherry-red ‘Audrey’ clutch.

Choose accessories for just a pop of color

If you’d rather add just a hint of pink to an outfit, then consider switching up your accessories. Whether you opt for a statement heel like Aquazzura’s playfully named ‘French Flirt’ pumps (a NET-A-PORTER exclusive) or a bubblegum moiré clutch from Valentino Garavani, a single accent is a great way to elevate muted looks. Brighter pinks work well with black, navy and gray, while softer blush and coral tones add warmth to trusty neutrals.
