Discover the eternal elegance of Fabergé’s iconic jewelry
If you’re looking for the perfect investment, an iconic piece of jewelry inspired by the famous FABERGÉ egg offers everyday elegance as well as an everlasting legacy
Fine jewelry is undergoing a sea change. Leading the charge is a jewel associated with both Russian empresses and James Bond alike – the Fabergé egg. Originally designed for royalty, this opulent and enigmatic icon is now reinterpreted in modern collections of contemporary jewels – epitomizing fine jewelry’s metamorphosis from a lofty rarity saved for special occasions to an everyday wearable treasure that we are never without.
Thanks to the last year’s assimilation of home, work and leisure time, our wardrobes are no longer neatly sectioned into formal and casual wear. Equally, our jewelry styling has gained a chameleon-like quality, too. Now, our most precious pieces are being worn with denim, cashmere sweatpants or a silk slip dress with equal charm. Fabergé’s Treillage and Heritage collections showcase perhaps the greatest evolution – drawing inspiration from the maison’s original jeweled masterpieces. Celebrated in the 19th century for their extraordinary craftsmanship and technical perfection, Fabergé’s jewels have been transformed into petite and playful pieces that are perfectly well-suited for everyday elegance.
Founded in 1842, Fabergé quickly became synonymous with exquisite rarity, breathtaking artistry and clever wit. Each of its 50 famous Imperial Easter Eggs, created between 1885 and 1916, was crafted from sumptuous gold, vivid gemstones and vibrant enamel – and many also revealed bejeweled surprises at their heart. Signature Fabergé techniques, such as hot enameling, guilloché and hand-engraving, are now reinterpreted for these two contemporary collections, embellishing bangles, earrings and locket egg pendants that similarly reveal concealed treasures.
Widely considered one of the world’s most iconic artist jewelers, Fabergé’s mystique and regal allure stemmed from its founder Peter Carl Fabergé, who became the official goldsmith to the Russian Imperial Court, crafting decadent and ingenious objets d’art that were admired the world over. Fabergé was first commissioned by Tsar Alexander III to craft an exquisite Easter egg as a gift for his wife, the Empress Maria Feodorovna, and this became an annual romantic tradition for the couple. Over the years, ever more enchanting eggs were devised by the maison, and not even the Tsar himself knew what surprise would be revealed by each egg.

Today’s Treillage collection is inspired by the Diamond Trellis Egg, crafted by Fabergé in 1892. The trellis pattern is a signature Fabergé motif, but the tactile, gem-set cushioning also echoes the voluminous quilted coats, shoes and handbags that have pervaded ready-to-wear collections in recent seasons. Treillage features an exotic array of colored gems, while the Heritage collection references Fabergé’s peerless enameling legacy – flaunting blush pink- and aqua-toned opalescent pendants. Deftly suspended from delicate chains or punctuating gold bangles, the eggs allow their wearer to indulge in a little moment of majesty – bringing regal allure to everyday endeavors that are royally rewarded with a magnificent surprise hidden inside each locket.
